Christmas is over! I can not believe it. It didn't feel the least bit like Christmas this year. I think that could be due to a number of things.
One....it is the first time in 10 years that I haven't worked leading up to Christmas or even on Christmas Eve.
Two....even though it is our fourth Christmas married, we have yet to create our own traditions, so nothing really feels like Christmas.
And Three....I had a baby 3 months ago. Yeah...pretty much nothing feels normal yet. ha ha.
Christmas feelings aside, we had a good holiday and are looking forward to the new year. Resolutions to be made (and broken), more celebrations in store, more birthdays, anniversaries. Ahhh....there really are things to look forward to.
Miriam gets more aware everyday and I LOVE watching her discover things. I am genuinely excited when she learns something new. She got a jumper chair from Nana and Papa Hall and we are working on her practicing holding her head up for long periods of time and trying to use her legs. The girl is so lazy, I don't know if she'll ever crawl, let alone walk. She absolutely refuses to stand on her legs when you hold her up. And when you put her in her jumper chair, she lays her head back in the seat and just doesn't move. So ridiculous.
She still loves her sun toy that blinks and plays songs and she has started to sing along with high pitched noises. She is also learning to imitate noises you make and copy you when you stick your tongue out. If you talk to her, she will coo back at you forever. I think that she truly believes she is talking to you and you completely understand everything she is saying.
Her sleeping at night has gradually increased, which is totally fabulous. Last night was a 9 hour stretch and the night before that was 10 hours. We are still working on the whole nap thing during the day, but other than that.....things are going wonderful. She still has bouts with colic in the evenings, but there is much improvement.

Create yourself a singer. When she makes those high pitched noises, get really excited and make them back at her. That's how singers are developed. :) if you just get excited when she starts to make "talking sounds" she'll never really be comfortable in a singing voice. That's so exciting... all of it!!!

She's so cute! I want to see her in person again. :) Don't worry ... Aaron & I have been married 10 years and still don't have much of a Christmas tradition. It starts to "feel" like Christmas again though even without it. (That didn't make sense, did it?)
