Grandma's got a Facebook!

I've been thinking a lot about my Grandma lately. We live far away and don't get to see her nearly as often as we want. And I'm not very good at keeping her up to date with letters and stuff. Miriam knows who she is though because I show her Grandma's picture often. She calls her "Other Nana." My mom is Nana, so my Grandma is OTHER Nana.

She's the typical grandma in that she bakes yummy cookies, makes great chicken noodle soup, knits things and quilts. And she sometimes says typical things. Like when I got the second and third piercing in my ears; "If God meant for there to be holes in your ears, He would have put them there Himself."

I never told her about my belly button.

But, there are other things that make my Grandma just a little different than a "normal" Grandma.

Like........my Grandma is pretty computer savvy. She scrapbooks and makes her layouts on the computer first. She e-mails. She orders things off Amazon. She loves loves loves my Shutterfly family photo page and orders pictures off there for her scrapbook. But, my favorite thing about my Grandma's savviness (New word, folks. Enjoy it.) is that she has a Facebook page.

And not only does she have a Facebook page, but she is an active Facebook member.

It is not unusual for me to sign in to Facebook and have one of my updates read: "Betty Pistone is a fan of Grey's Anatomy." True story.

And just this morning I was asked to "confirm" that I was Betty Pistone's granddaughter because she had listed me as a family member.

I LOVE being able to keep in touch with her in this way.

Did I mention she is 83? (Please don't kill me, Grandma.)

At least I don't have any pictures that would potentially embarrass you.

Instead, I will post something I know you will love.

This was my first attempt at getting Miriam to smile instead of baring her teeth like a wild animal.

But that didn't last long.

Attempt number 3.....

And then I kinda gave up hoping for BOTH of them to smile at the same time.

And then Miriam misunderstood what I meant by putting her face next to Eve's.

And then got bored and did what she normally does to her sister. Puts her feet all over her head.

And then Eve responded like this.....

But at least I don't have any embarrassing photos of YOU, Grandma.

Oh wait........

I lied.

Cute, Heather! Wow, Other Nana is COOL! Your pictures of your girls really made me laugh. It reminds me soooo much of Emma and Addie at those ages. Emma used to put her feet on Addie too, and they STILL don't get the concept of putting their faces together. Your days of having everyone looking and smiling may be over. Ours were over four kids ago.
