They would tell you all the stories of the people who lived here.

They would tell you of all the tears that were shed.
They would tell you of all the laughter shared between a wife and her best friend, who happens to be her husband.

They would tell you of the time we got snowed in for 3 days and had no food.

They would tell you of the other time we got snowed in and had way too much food. We got fatter. They would tell you of the fights we've had.
They would tell you of the times we made up.
They would tell you of the time we had friends over for dinner and made horrible meatloaf. Sweet friends ate it anyway. And we threw it away when they left.
They would tell you of the Christmas Movie Marathons we had where friends were literally sitting on the stairs or laying on the floor like sardines to enjoy some holiday classics.
They would tell you of the songs I have sung at the top of my lungs. (Actually, my neighbors could probably tell you that, too. )
They would tell you about the weight I had lost.....and gained.....and lost....and gained.
They would tell you of the times our house was a refuge for friends or family going through a rough time.
They would tell you of the Christmases we celebrated with no presents under the tree.
They would tell you of the burnt dinners, burnt pancakes, burnt muffins, burnt breads, burnt casseroles...........
They would tell you of the discovery of new talents like painting and scrapbooking.
They would tell you of the time we had two oompa loompas visit our Halloween party.

They would tell you of the little girl who won $5 by saying "Trick or Treat" at the scariest decorated house in the neighborhood.

They would tell you of the time two girlfriends set up a 'sexy' photo shoot in my living room so I could give my husband an awesome anniversary gift. ; )
They would tell you of another photo shoot we had in our living room with a table cloth background. Pictures taken for my husband's business cards when we didn't have enough money to have them professionally taken.
They would tell you of the pregnancy test that came out positive.....or the 10 after that, just to be sure.
They would tell you of the night I laid awake with the window open, listening to the rain while my husband and I felt our child play jump rope in my belly.
They would tell you of the time I packed my bag for the hospital, cleaned my house and lay awake all night knowing that the next day I would be holding my baby. They would tell you of the tears I cried when things didn't turn out as expected.
They would tell you of my sweet baby's cries for months....and months....and months. (That's one my neighbors could probably tell you about, too. ; )
They would tell you of the sweet sounds of a baby's laughter and her parents laughing in response.
They would tell you of the baby food made. They would tell you of the laundry not done and the bathrooms not cleaned.
They would tell you of the prayers that went up to God out of appreciation, desperation, sadness, pain and praise.
They would tell you of the disappointment we felt when we learned we may not be able to make many more of these memories within these walls.
They would tell you of the peace we have when we remind ourselves that our house is not our priority.
They would tell you all of these things.
But, they can't talk and so I will keep these things close to my heart.
