Excuses

Top ten reasons I have not blogged in a million years:

10. I am lazy.
It's not much of an excuse, but at least it's something. And, it's true. I'm lazy.

9. I am intimidated by others' blogs.
Seriously. I am intimidated by their writing, their frequency with which they update, their obviously much more interesting lives, their constant photo taking and their amount of followers. I am always impressed when people have 30 comments on their post about their last trip to the grocery. Obviously, it was well written or I wouldn't have been excited to read it either.

8. My computer is busted.
While it's not my computer that I use the most often, it is the computer that I upload all my photos to. Which gives me another excuse not to update...because I don't have pictures.

7. My computer is in the basement.
I no longer like the basement. This is a problem for two reasons. One: we live in the basement and Two.....nope, I guess that's the most important reason. Since we live in the basement and I don't like to go down there anymore, it makes it hard to get to my busted computer to blog with no photos.

6. I no longer like the basement.
It smells. Not bad. It's not even something the untrained, unpregnant nose can smell. But, I can. And I spent several weeks down there at the beginning of this pregnancy when I felt so nauseous that my clean clothes made me gag. Thus, the smell of the basement brings back a flood of those nauseous feelings. Kinda like when you get sick on a particular meal and then you can't eat it again for a long time. That's where I'm at.

5. I'm pregnant.
I was out of commission for close to 14 weeks. Much longer than with Miriam. I disconnected from the world for awhile.

4. Re-establishing human interaction.
I found that by not updating my facebook status or my blog that people who really cared what was happening in my life actually called me. Or even better.....they came over! I think in this technologically savvy world we live in we may have forgotten the basis for friendship. It is a good reminder that friendship is two sided and needs a little effort to continue. I liked it!!!

3. Dead rabbit.
There was a dead rabbit in our yard today. It's the rabbit that visits everyday for breakfast and every evening for dinner. Miriam named him Gus. That has nothing to do with why I didn't update, but isn't that sad?

2. Minimal downtime.
I have found that the 1.5 hour nap Miriam takes in the middle of the day is usually spent cleaning and napping. I live in a household with 6 adults and there is always something to clean, launder or scrub. Speaking of.....I need to scrub my bathroom. Bleck.

1. Miriam
Yes, she is SUPER active and requires a lot of attention, but more than that....she's FUN! I like to spend time with her. Just this morning, we sat at the table and colored together for 30 minutes. I like coloring. I have my own color book and crayons that Miriam knows she can't play with. I'm kind of a child.
