Scattered Thoughts

My picture taking has been at an all-time low, so I gave up updating my blog. But, then I remembered that people know how to read and that I don't necessarily need pictures.

Besides being a holiday last weekend, it was also mine and Daniel's....are you ready for this.......10 year high school reunion. If I wasn't 8 months pregnant and weighed what I weigh now, I probably wouldn't have gone. But, I felt comfortable with the fact that people would look at me and simply say, "Oh...she's pregnant."

It was laid back and really not a huge event at all. The first night everyone met at a bar. A very questionable bar. We parked under a streetlight so that no one would kill us when we left there later. We saw people we hadn't seen in...hmm....10 years. But, we mostly stood around talking to the people who we still hang out with; Mike, Kelly, Lise, etc. I did talk to a couple of girls more that night than I had the entire 4 years of high school. It seems we may have more in common now as grown ups than as adolescents.

I also got offered a free shot of Jack Daniel's new "whatever" coming soon to a questionable bar near you. I turned it down, of course. To which the skinny, flat belly bearing girl with the nose ring said, "Seriously? You're turning down free Jack Daniel's?"

Seriously?

You think this giant belly is a result of too much alcohol?

And now I can't believe it is Wednesday. I am resuming my normal "mommy" schedule with a few new twists.

One of which is washing baby clothes and blankets. We went last week and got them all out of storage. I had a lovely visit up on labor and delivery because of non-stop, non-braxton hicks contractions I have been having. Turns out, they're not regular, so if I can just hold off for two more weeks, the doctor said. Two more weeks??? Hence the baby clothes washing extravaganza.

Little baby girl has been moving a lot. Big movements with her little feet sticking straight into my ribs so that I can actually feel the outline. It's amazing. She doesn't move nearly as much as Miriam did. And since nothing about Miriam's loud, silly, strong-willed, dare I say...stubborn personality was a surprise, I am going to take a gander at guessing what this little one will be like.

Quiet. Sweet. Joyful. And totally willing to let her older sister speak for her until she's 3.

I am so excited to have TWO little girls. Ahhhh. So fun.

Well, back to the laundry.
