Favorite Flick Friday

Have you watched the new show on TV, Parenthood?

I love it!

Before it was a show starring every one's favorite Gilmore Girl, it was a movie. A really good movie!

The cool thing is that Ron Howard directed the movie AND directs the new show. And he carried the same story lines over. Same characters with different names. It makes it even more fun if you were a fan of the movie.

YEAR: 1989

RATED: PG-13

ACTORS: Steve Martin, Rick Moranis; Here's some trivia for you: Who is Leaf Phoenix? Anyone? Anyone?

Look for Leaf in this early role (aka Joaquin)

GENRE: Comedy

THE SCOOP: Parenthood. Being a parent at any age to any age child. It's funny. It's touching. It's heartwarming. It's scary....being a parent is scary. Can I get an 'Amen'?

FAVORITE CHARACTER: Tod....played by another actor you might know now. Speaking with his same 'Bill and Ted' voice, a young Keannu Reeves.

FAVORITE LINE:
Tod: You know, Mrs. Buckman, you need a license to buy a dog, to drive a car- hell, you even need a license to catch a fish. But, they'll let every butt-reaming *bleep* be a father.

WHY I LOVE THIS MOVIE:
It's a comedic look at being a parent. And truly at any age. And to any type of "kid."

Before the Parenthood show resumes for the new season, you should see this movie. It's fun to compare.
